Mind Mapping My Future
I have enbarked on creating a rather colorful and extensive Mind Map that is about my future as an artist. I am focusing on the projects I want to work on, my dreams of travel while stuggling to keep my job with GE. With the economy in its present state, I always fear losing my job as sales dwindle before my eyes, but I try hard not to dwell on that possibility. I am more focused than ever on completing several photography projects this year, as I search for just the right opportunities to present themselves. Stay tuned for further updates.

Roaming the Streets Series - Post III
It's Sunday night after a long week. By Wednesday of any given week I am more than anxious for the weekend to come, and in my eyes the weekend starts at 4:00 PM on Friday, unless of course I have Friday off, then it starts at 4:00 PM on Thursday. But the great thing about tonight is that I am pain free and off the pain medication. Thank goodness! Sooo... let me tell you a little about the World of Graffiti III photo. I found this great off the beaten path location where I can get very close to some very interesting Graffiti found on the trains that travel through Wisconsin. This photo was taken at this new spot of mine, and I had a field day shooting.

Roaming the Streets Series - Post II
Milwaukee, in my eyes, is an amazing city. It may be small, but it is so diverse and complex in many ways. This city has so many wonderful things about it, and in the same breath it has much to be ashamed of. Traveling its streets and back alley's has opened my eyes to both the good and the bad, yet there is hope that it will one day be a great city once again. My Roaming the Streets Series was created to open everyones eyes about our urban area, the history and culture that is so rich and abundant, yet desparate for acknowledgment.

Roaming the Streets Series - Post I
Diverticulitis, if this is what I have, is a Bitch. So to take my mind off the pain, I decided to write about a new series of work I am compiling called Roaming the Streets. I spend as much time as I possibly can, driving around the streets and alley's of Milwaukee in search of the uncommon, the unusual. The next couple of posts I will focus on some interesting Graffiti I have found in some very out of the way places. This first photo, World of Graffiti I was discovered in an alley in the Third Ward, on the back of a vacant building. I find this type of art fasinating, the kids so very talented, and wish there was a constructive outlet for them that wasn't destructive in the eyes of the law. One of my dreams is to create what I call the Graffiti Project, where a building that is designated for destruction be opened up for 3 months to the taggers for them to get creative, without any repercussions. Then take the opportunity to photograph it before it is demolished, as a living history of the art project. So many dreams, so little money, even less time.

Emergency
Once again today I realized why I hate going to the doctor and even more going to the Emergency Room. After a virtual sleepless night doubled over in pain, I shot off an e-mail to my boss telling her I was going to be out sick (first time in 4 years!) and called my doctors office at 8am sharp to be told he was on vacation, just my luck. The Triage nurse called me back at 8:45 and told me to go to the Emergency Room. Not ever wanting to bother someone, I drove myself to St. Joe's Urgent/Emergency Care and found out the cause of all this pain. Acute Diverticulitis, a full blown infection in my large intestines. Who would have thought that it would take 3 different people, and 5 different sticks of the needle to draw 3 vials of blood. I have no fear of needles, and can tolarate some pain, but I actually screamed in pain and begged the nurse to take out the needle after she dug around for a vein in my hand. So with antibiotics and pain killers in hand I hope to be on the road to recovery very soon. I have to be well by Friday as it is our CoPA members show this weekend.

Sleeping In
Sometimes a Sunday morning is perfect for sleeping in. I am always such an early bird, up at 5:30 am so sleeping till 9am was a luxury I don't often indulge myself. At 11am I started getting the chills, and in checking my temp it is 101.4, it must be my turn for the flu.

The Beginning
4/12/2008: Today I begin this Blog to share my thoughts, ideas, dreams, and most importantly my love of photography. While watching Randy Pausch's "The Last Lecture" I realized that life is never something to be taken for granted, but to be shared with others. I have my dreams, but what is more important is that I need to help others fulfill their dreams also. I will strive to be more of a Tigger and less of an Eeyore. And I will try my best to accept others feedback as a blessing.
